So Zynga has finally released the building that I was talking about, the FrontierVille Barber Shop alongside the Barbershop Missions in FrontierVille. However, the Barbershop is unlike any other building that was ever released in FrontierVille, so please read on this guide for the Barber Shop to find out everything about it.
First of all, you must purchase the Barber Shop frame from the market for 760 coins and 11 wood, place it on your homestead and whack it 10 times (at a cost of 1 energy and 7 wood per whack) before being allowed to complete the building. In order to finish building the Barbershop, you will need to have the following NEW building materials:
- 5 Razors
- 5 Dye
- 5 Smocks
- 5 Sinks
- 5 Tilers
- 5 Plaster
The first three items can be obtained by asking your friends directly (or also by responding to help requests), while the other ones can be obtained via wall feed posts (or by answering them yourself).
Once you finish the Barbershop, the new and interesting part comes into play: you will have to actually hire your friends to fill in the positions (this feature is similar to the community buildings hiring in CityVille, so if you play the game you should know too).
So, how to fill in the staff members of your Barber Shop?
Immediately after completing the building, you will see a new menu that will show you the Staff Area (or, if you don’t, you can click the FrontierVille Barbershop and select the “Staff” button). You will see 5 positions that need to be filled: a barber and a barber shop quartet (lead, tenor, bass, baritone). Next, you will have to ask your friends to fill in the positions and each time you accept a friend, a Barber Shop collectible will be rewarded. Only after the Barbershop is completely staffed, you’ll be allowed to use it!
Once the barbershop is fully staffed, you can start using it by buying hairstyles and beards for your avatars. Also, a pretty nice touch is that when you collect the daily bonus from the FrontierVille Barber Shop, the quartet sings. Pretty nice, after all this hard work!

Barbershop has been reduced to 2 of each razor, hair dye, smock, sink, spackle, plaster
