In a previous post I was telling you that the man behind the highly promising FrontierVille is Brian Reynolds, game designer vet that worked on Civilization II and Alpha Centauri. Recently, the man spoke with video games website Kotaku and offered a host of details about FrontierVille, some of which I’m sure you can hardly wait to read.
First of all, and most important, it’s worth noting that FrontierVille takes place in a “living world” meaning that weather will change (and depending on the weather, you will get bonuses or penalties), weeds will grow while you’re gone and so will trees.
“We’ve tried to create a sense of surprise and newness,” he said. “If you go away for a while, some weeds grow and you might need to clear them out. The little trees grow into bigger trees and the bigger trees drop seeds that might grow into new trees. So there’s this sense of the wilderness pushing back a little bit that it’s not going to be the same way every time you come back. … There’s even little animals hiding, snakes and bears and groundhogs you may have to chase away.”
Talking even more about FrontierVille, Reynolds admitted that the game isn’t, however, more complex than FarmVille and you don’t have to be a hardcore gamer in order to get it going. It’s just “a really open-ended game board. There’s a lot of stuff to do and lot of different stuff to do.”
“Players like having some variety. You can chop wood for a while and then look for snakes or plant some crops or work on courting your spouse [laughs].. we kind of keep it always coming so there’s always something new and interesting happening. I used some of my video game tricks so when you click on a tree to chop on it doesn’t just say, ‘Oh you got plus-17 wood, what happens is some logs come falling off and you click them. If you click them faster you might get a good bonus reward for good effort. We just tried to use very simple but well-known ways to make a game fun. I think people want games that aren’t all that complicated because they want to be able to bring a lot of people into the game.”
Sounds really exciting to hear all that from the creators… because we were already expecting FrontierVille to be an amazing title!

Long time Farmville player, new to Frontierville. Please indicate that your friend request is for Frontierville if you send one however, because I may forget and ignore you because I don’t know you.
Thanks!
I really enjoy playing frontierville but the messeges that flash across the screen have got to be adjusted. They are very irritating. And they need to be made so that once u visit a neighbor, well u dont get a messege zipping into ur screen saying that neighbor needs help when u can no longer help that neighbor. And as for the one that announces i ran out of energy, i only need one messege, not one right after the other. I spend alot of time clicking those messeges out of my way and as i said, it can get frustrating and irritating.
I hope something can be done about those.
Thank You.

please add me daily player(more like addicted player haha)
Too bad he can’t control his tech help team.
I hate that when you get a request (a general request made to all friends) and you answer it the game begins to load. Is there anyway to fix it. I answer mulitply request one right after another and the game trys to load each time. It is a pain and slows me down. The other item I would like to see changed is when you pick a game to see those request that it defaults back to all games after you answer a request. A big waste of time.
I love playing Frontierville and think it is a much better game than Farmville which I find boring.
I love frontierville, the game is awesome. But I do not understand why the creator can’t fix the issues with the blasted internet and all of all the other bugs. He also may want to get his tech team under control.
I love this game but I have some problems with this game how can I win missions if I can’t get things from my land and my friends land. I should be able to chop my friends trees to get the same things I get on my lands. I have been trying to play a few missions where I have to chop trees and I only get one if any things I need. It’s ridiculous I just want to able to do beat this missions it’s been days since I started them.
