Lately, we’ve been receiving a lot of e-mails from people who are complaining that they’re having a problem with one mission requirement in the expansion series in FrontierVille: the quest titled The Hideout that requires you to fire the Fox Cannon 20 times.
Here is what one of our readers, Stacey, told us: “This is my most favorite game on facebook. I have a problem.. for the mission of expansions, I need a fox cannon, but I do not have one and can’t seem to purchase one. When I go to the foundry… it says I have to complete a mission. Please help!!!!!”
After checking out more messages regarding this problem, it appears that some people have not completed the Foundry mission series, specifically the A FrontierVille Fox Hunt. Now I don’t know yet if the missions are no longer available for them (which would be a problem Zynga has to fix somehow) or simply that the players did not get to that mission yet.
So, if you are having problems with firing the Fox Cannon in FrontierVille because it requires you to complete a mission, make sure that you have first completed the Foundry in the game and the Foundry series of missions.
Let us know here if you have any other problems with firing the fox cannon for the expansion missions!

I need the fox cannon
I did these missions just a couple of weeks ago. You have to start with the snake cannon missions. When you complete them, then you can buy the groundhog. After the groundhog, you can buy the fox.

I am not having issues with the fox cannon but I am not getting the grass, seems that every time I need grass it never shows up. I get everything but grass now…. Grrr…..
for grass i cleared huge space 1/3 of my homestead on my homested and plant pine trees (oak attract thorns/cacti/skull pine is rock/wildflower/grass)
i keep getting coyotes instead of foxes
dont feed chickens ——- more likely for fox to come with hungry chicken while feeding goose or turkey.. the more that are hungry the more are likely to come
I completed this mission without hiccup sorry to all those having probs
Getting foxes fast. no problems.
i had one hiccup the first day that my kill count was at 9 and went down to 3 but after that it was fine
Im on the last mission of the expansion and I have not got 1 fox yet. I keep getting coyotes.
I had to purchase the Varmint mission in the market. That’s how you get to purchase them in the Foundry..
My problem? Can’t get the darn foxes to appear now! Feeding my geese and chickens like crazy…and NOTHING!
You have to purchase the varmint mission at the market…then go to the foundry for the rest of the mission…I didnt do it before and had to finish it before I could get the fox cannon..first you have to get the snake and then the gopher finally the fox.
It seemed like a pain so I didnt do it before…but it wasnt so bad…now if the foxes will just appear when I feed..th geese and turkeys…that is the only time I can get them to appear…if they do!
I havent had a Fox since the Coyotes moved in…. :/
Jeff – What are you doing to get your foxes so fast?
For those who aren’t able to get the varmint missions (some of us did not have the missions in the Marketplace and therefore weren’t able to complete the fox cannon) . . . contact Zynga support.
It was recommended to me at the Frontierville community boards and within 3 days, someone from support went into my farm and placed the varmint mission for me to complete. All is well!
As for getting coyotes, I did what was recommended on the community boards and only fed geese, 5 at a time, with my feeder. I did have to buy a bunch of baby geese in order to do it and it did take me 4-5 days, but it worked.
For the expansion mission, i need to fire the fox cannon, but my problem is…… I sold the Fox Cannon weeks ago to make more room on my frontier….. I don’t know where to get another one

Nice job running a misson through QC, Zynga. Try to remember that some of us have been playing since launch, others (like myself) a little later and some just began. A bit more forethought, rather than the “Well, everyone probably has a cannon in their storage shed” mentality is really shortsighted.
I have Foundry but do not buy varmint mission at market.
I had three foxes in the Jeff post above and have not had a fox since. only coyotes. If you read through the zygna error reports its frightening. unplayable games. sad since i love the games.

I’m having this same problem when I entered the game no longer had this mission to buy the guns, now I can not complete the mission of expancion because I do not have the cannon to shoot foxes!
I have the cannon and have had no trouble getting the foxes to show up. My problem is I can’t click on my foundry. I can see it and put the cursor on it, but it won’t let me click it. So to shoot the foxes, I have to buy powder kegs from the market. Any suggestions?
Will it let you mover the foundry? That worked for me once when I could not click on it.
Same problem – sold my fox cannon months ago, never needed it. Now there is no possibility to get a new one. Very short sightened….
I’m tired of playing something that can not be completed,so fix the dam problem or get rid of it. This fox cannon is nothing but a pain right where the sun does not shine and yet the rest of the game I have no problems with so get rid of the fox cannon or replace it with something Thank you
I can not get any more foxes. I have been working on the expansion for several weeks now. Was doing fine until I hit the “10 foxes shot with the cannon” amount, and now, I can’t get anything. I feed the chickens and geese. I have tried to fire the cannon, in case there was a glitch and I just couldn’t see the fox, etc. Nothing. How frustrating. On another note, I hate that it took a week to get 15,000 food on the “canning” mission and next they want 50,000 and the 100,000 in food. UGH! I think I will just ignore that mission and not do it. What’s the point?
non of the cannons missions are available to me either. What can I do to get this task/mission completed? Maybe change 20 foxes with cannon to bears, foxes, snakes or just kill the fox.

I can’t finish the “Enormous Homestead Expansion Part IV, The Hideout”. I have to fire the fox cannon 10 times but I haven’t got the Fox Cannon and I can’t buy it. I.ve only got The Ghost Cannon.
I’m having another problem when trying to craft the powder in the foundry. I am unable to click on the foundry building to go inside. I’ve refresh, reinstalled the flash player, did Control-F5, ran mozilla firefox, IE 7/8. Logged out and logged back into face book. Stand on my head, crossed my eyes and clapped three times and thought happy thoughts..

the fox cannon ,delete your foundry from your homestead,build a new 1,then purchase the varmint mission in specials

I have been writing customer support since Thanksgiving. I have yet to get them to find a way for me to receive my varmint mission. Any other ideas out there?

Hi in the hideout mission in Fronterville i have to fire the cannon 14 times at the ghost varmints but never seem to get any, i am getting very frustrated as i am trying to expand my homestead.
I have bought TWO foundrys now just in case i did something wrong the first time and still the varmint cannon mission shave not appeared so i cant complete my expansion mission! Please help, im level 66 and play everyday! x
Really annoyed as over the years ive spent loads of money on Frontierville. I’m level 68 and i’ve never had the varmint cannon missions so now i cant expand my homestead any further! Can anyone help, if not i will have to take this further with Frontierville and it will NOT be pretty!!

GRRRRR! after all that i found the solution! If anyone else needs the answer to it follow these instructions: go into Frontierville game, click market, click special tab and flick through untill you midn “Varmint Cannon” mission and buy it! phew…..
