Unfortunately for us and Zynga, FrontierVille (or, as it is now titled, Pioneer Trail) is starting to lose tons of its popularity and in the past 15 days the game dropped from 11 million active monthly players to a bit below 6, which is an impressive loss of no more than 5 million players!
Apparently, Zynga only lost most of the casual players, because the FrontierVille Daily players remained at about the same numbers: 2 Million, compared to a bit over 2.4 when the peak hit in October. Still, it’s a big loss here and FrontierVille used to do so much better.
I have seen most of my neighbors stop playing the game and judging from the traffic on this website that has gone so much down that FrontierVille Info itself is really hard to maintain from a financial point of view, many other players have stopped playing FrontierVille as well (if the numbers were not obvious, thanks AppData for them!).
I don’t know exactly what is the reason behind this drop in numbers: indeed, there are bugs and problems that Zynga is working non stop to fix, but weren’t they always here? Why now? Did people finally had enough or the huge competition and the tons of games available on Facebook managed to draw bits here and there and resulted in such a huge drop?
What do you think?
