Today’s release of the new feature in FrontierVille, the Critter Catching feature, has seen the release of three new critters in the game that we will have to capture by completing a relatively difficult process. We’ll need to craft traps first for each of the three new critters (owl, wolf, cougar), then use Tamin’ Treats in order to actually tame them.
I am here to share with you all the details about this brand new and extremely exciting feature in FrontierVille – that of critter catching, by sharing the requirements for each type of trap in FrontierVille, as well as the details on how to catch the new critters.
First of all, I’ll tell you the requirements for crafting Taming Treats which are required to tame and lure in all the three new animals:
FrontierVille Owl Trap Requirements
Oak Trees drop Solid Oak
Pine Trees drop Pine Panels
Now that you have the trap built, you will have to actually catch an owl and tame it. In order to catch the owl, you will need to craft a single Tamin Treat, but afterwards you will need more of these in order to tame the owl and make it yours. Here are the requirements for taming the Owl in FrontierVille:
FrontierVille Cougar Trap Requirements
Steel Forges drop Steel Braces
Here is how to craft the rabbit decoy:
Here are the requirements for taming the Cougar:
FrontierVille Wolf Trap Requirements
Tend Goats for Goat Chops
Here is how to craft the Hearty Meal:
Here is how to craft the Moving Decoy:
And finally, here are the requirements for taming the Wolf in FrontierVille:
And this it! Taming the animals is a pretty difficult task, but if we are to consider that the rewards for doing it can get very sweet (there’s a sweepstakes and as you saw already in the details about the missions, everybody can earn 10 Free Horseshoes), I am sure we’ll do our best to overcome these difficult missions and tame the beasts of FrontierVille!

I would like to Thank You for all the work you have put in keeping us up to date on new missions in FrontierVille. I am a level 163 player and have been here since almost the beginning. I have just trapped my first wolf ( already have an owl and 3 cougar ). I am sorry to say that I am tired with all of the begging for items and have been for some time. With all the neighbors that have quit the game already, it is at the point that the game is to much trouble to try and play. I am about 1 request from quiting myself.
Glad I could help, Bob, and I totally understand your frustrations. You’re not the only one!
me too! playing the game is not funy any longer
In my game the wolf trap takes 25 treats to tame. Is this correct? If yours is correct at 20 that is so Grrrrr. I will have to contact zanga again.
My 2nd wolf was 20 tamin’ and the 3rd one was 25. The amount of items to request and even to send is getting overwhelming. I dread now to look at the feed with the tons of requests. I get about 100 or more a day in the game envelope. They need to reduce the amount of items required to make and item, the prizes really are not worth the trouble. getting tired of the upgrades. Then we get a pig pen and a sheep pin, fine, but to really store any of them we have to keep upgrading the a new building. And 99% of the stuff on my homestead are not storable at all. Just a big ugly cluttered mess now.
