Zynga is planning to raise the difficulty level in FrontierVille by introducing the Timed Missions into play: missions you must complete in a limited period of time, which makes it a bit more difficult, but also worthwhile since the rewards are sweeter! And there’s also a first Timed Mission released in FrontierVille: It’s Canning Time!
Here’s the description of the new event: “Introducing timed missions in FrontierVille! You can start these missions when you want, but once you do start them, you only have a limited time to complete ‘em! The challenges are more difficult, but the rewards are gratifying!”
Here are the requirements for completing the first FronteirVille timed mission, It’s canning time:
- Harvest 100 Tomatoes
- Harvest 20 Cherry Trees
- Collect 10 Canning Jars
Probably the most difficult part here is collecting the Canning Jars, which must be asked for as it happened with other quest items – it is unclear at the moment if sending a Canning Jar will give you one, but if this is true, then the quest becomes really easy.
The reward, as promised, for completing the It’s Canning Time mission is really sweet: a Sundial, a new decoration. So with the right amount of preparation, you can complete this limited time mission that has a limit of 2 days to complete in about 20 minutes. Sweet!
Hahaha limited time…yeah thats if the game remains stable enough to complete so far today i have managed 15 mins and then it crashes and locks up !.
They need to sort this out its clearly a Flash/shockwave problem my Firefox wont even load it and google chrome gives shock errors and Explorer does the same…! none of this occured prior to those darn Halloween Missions !!

I hear ya !!!! I have been having nothing but problems since the halloween missions started. very time consuming waiting for things to load, and cant vist alot of nieghbors, it just freezes up, LETS GET IT TOGETHER PEOPLE !!!!!!!! FRONTIERVILLE HAS DEDICATED GAMERS TRYING TO PLAY !!!!!!
You are assuming the darn mission/question will work! Zynga needs to get the lead out.
for the prob in halloween,i found solution= go to your FV,right mouse click,go to settings and disable harware accelerator. for headless horseman, start your FV with zynga game bar. worked for me

How do you start the timed mission
It says that the new timed missions was released yesterday, but I dont have any and I am finished with all of mine except one more school subject. Does anyone know how to get them?
That is so funny. How the @#$%$$ can anyone play timed missions (which sounds sucky) if you can’t even play regular Frontierville. I haven’t seen anything about timed missions. But then I can’t even get it to play.
Tried Chrome and it crashed. Trying Firefox and it’s locked up. I notice in taskmanager, processes their is a plugin-container.exe that is using as much as 60% of memory.
I didn’t see that for Chrome, Chrome just crashed, no choices except close program or search for solutions. Well it’s not either of the browsers its Zygna.
OK we are Friday morning, still nothing??

i’ve done the pink buggy mission, figuring that i can’t get the timed one until it was completed. however… no such luck.
as for browser problems, i use Opera, and i very very rarely have an issue with freezing. it’s worth a shot. firefox, chrome and explorer give problems though.. i tested them since hearing about all the crap people are dealing with. so…. i suggest Opera.
now.. come on timed missions!

I have the pink buggy mission, but I don’t have the timed ones…
Well I got the pink buggy and waiting on ONE grass to grow to finish it..
I don’t believe any timed missions have officially been released. They had one of those little icon links in FTV (down there just to the right of where it said “Ronald’s Homestead” or w/e your name is) that I saw up there for a very brief time but was removed quickly thereafter. It seems Zynga must have accidently posted that before they were ready to actually release any new quests. :”)
has anyone seen the new timed missions? Not here! And this was reported how many days ago? Come on guys………..get with the program!
A neighbor’s neighbor said they already had the canning jars, but no mission. I had the icon on the bottom, but it disappeared.

Well I have my canning mission gotta wait to get cans back but figure i will have em all by later today wont take 2 days to finish this mission.. whats next???
Completed this canning mission in 30 minutes or less! With a network like mine, it didn’t take much. The biggest deal was getting all the tomatoes harvested what with the dang groundhogs!

Finished mine in 2 hours or so… Got the groundhog but let him set in maters till i got most harvested.. Whats next??? This one took a week to get..
Just go into you flash settings (right click on a flash screen) and remove the check from “enable hardware acceleration” and the woes from the Halloween missions will go away.
Why is it that when I try to get canning reward it says they’re outta rewards? I only need 2 more and can’t get it finished.

My son formated my computer and in stalled windows 7. Working like a dream and using IE to play Frontier. Finally got my new mission had it finished in under 2 hours.
My fav is when it say “the game just got better click her to refresh”. I am ready for a mission. I am a sitting duck I can only gift and visit others once a day and then I do nothing,
finished the new mission in a few hours… now again waiting for new mission… so stupid….

Finished the canning mission in less time than i thought, but didn’t receive a reward. Also clicked on a small icon on the bottom left of the screen to accept another timed mission and nothing from that either. Really getting fed up with this game! It could be fun if it didn’t take so long to load and load neighbors frontiers also.
look in your inventory a sundial should be in for finishing the canning…

Timed, that’s priceless! Seeing that most of the time you can’t publish requests for needed items…how in hades is one supposed to meet a time requirement???
Well I had the pumpkin mission yesterday finished it in 1 hour…. Need another they are so slow to send out
I’ve had no drastic problems with frontierville since I started it. I’m level 57 and so far no repetitive kinks. I had one incident that I was asked to refresh the browser several times during the halloween mission but it was fixed the following day.
Now, the timed mission only takes me hours to complete, I skipped the pumpkin timed mission because the reward wasnt worth spending time on. Frontierville should come up with better or more unique rewards to retain players because I’m getting bored with the limited options and missions to play.
Also, my inventory is getting too crowded with stuff I cant use anymore… All gift items wouldve been all right as a regift or resale. Forwarding gifts were good until they removed it… they should bring this option back. Otherwise, they should increase the storage shed capacity soon!
Just did the last mission with the metal and wood and nails.. was done in 1 hour..
oh and it took 5 days to get new mission from the pumpkins to the metal one.. I just did to win the wooden trojen rabbit…

I got the canning mission and finished all but the jars. Received two jars, went to bed last night waiting to ask for more jars today since I still had 1 day 20 hrs left at bedtime. Today I log in and the whole mission is GONE. Zip. No sundial, no mission, no nothing!
I like the timed missions, but I wish they would give xp instead of goofy prizes. Also when are they going to release Gold rush, Oregon trail ect? It has said coming soon for months now!
I am so sick of not having anything to do! I finished all three of the timed missions and I saw something about some missions to expand your family on another website, but I can;t seem to figure out how to do it. I only have 3 people in my family on Frontierville and according to one of the badges in the lodge, you have to have more to get the badge. Anyone know how to expand family?
