It looked like yesterday when we started playing this amazing new game on Facebook – FrontierVille which was bound to become the best game on the social network (in my opinion) only to fail right there before reaching the top (again, in my opinion). FrontierVille – now known as Pioneer Trail – is getting close to celebrating its second birthday and Zynga wants your ideas on what to do to make the game better.
Here is what community managed Stumpgrinder posted on the official Zynga forums:
“As many of you know, the 2nd Anniversary of the release of The Pioneer Trail (previously called FrontierVille is coming up in June. While we could think up of any number of ideas on what we can do, we’d rather throw it out to y’all and see if there isn’t anything in particular you’d like to see. This doesn’t have to be shoe-horned into just one feature but could be any number of things.
What are some good examples of what we can do? We can do a major building, or say some new beneficial recipes, some kind of varmint-hunting event or bring something from the past and improve on it. Or a combination of this. I had thought about a daily raffle of sorts (you log in and find out if you win for that day, for instance), putting in some anniversary cake recipes (that have great bonuses but only available for a short time), or cool things like that. If we could use a pre-existing feature and improve/add something to it, what would that be?”
So… what would it be? How would you like to celebrate FrontierVille’s second birthday? Visit Zynga’s forums and let them know – maybe they will listen!

Heres an idea.. how about not having to constantly spam and fill the email boxes of your friends and family?.. or how about not constantly having to flush real money to get something remotely cool .. or skip one of the dozens of steps in a mind numbingly long quest chain? .. Oh-oh.. how about not having to get 452 daily gift parts to slap together a designer outhouse? .. yeah that would significantly suck less. Hell I might even start playing again. :/
An idea or two from Denmark… Not haven signs about “buy now” cause in Denmark there is not a lot of people who has a chance to pay in dollars
Also with all the new goals, DO NOT repeat them a lot of times please. AND,, let´s have more than 50 “clicks” a day to have a chance to follow through in the goals.
BUT it´s a wonderfull game and I LOVE IT <3 <3 <3
Here’s an idea.. Crazy Cakes! Must have Crazy Cakes for birthday! And birthday themed animals like Birthday Sheep, Birthday Cows, Birthday Chickens, the standard animals of the bunch. And also, I would update the loading speed of the game. Speed up everything is a definite need in the game so it isn’t so slow. Collecting materials needed for buildings should be made easier.
I LOVE THIS GAME!
heres a really good idea.. stop blaming game collectors and bots for your already outdated and slow servers that haven’t been updated in the last 12 months
here is a few suggestions..1…get rid of limits on how many items we can collect from each post, and requests..2. if you are going to offer something that has to be bought with horseshoes, how about offering that same item(s) with equivilant of coins…for example..lets say if you want to buy a black moose and it costs 50 horseshoes, which not everone can afford to buy with real money, offer that same item for lets say…..50,000 coins…..like is like 1 horseshoe=10,000 coins..that way its fair for ALL players to be able to get a horseshoe type item….that, or just get rid of horseshoes all together and let players buy ALL items using coins
In the begining we were able to send any excess we had in our inventry to others who needed it and now we cant . The issue of sending out request to others is that we are all not wanting the same thing at the same time and say i send out request for marigold and they send back requests for willow trees and I want the marigold and they want the willow , we are getting stuff we dont need so would be could to pass on excess to other from inventry
I absolutely LOVE this game and have been playing diligently since its beginning. However, while I do enjoy the productivity that separates Pioneer Trail from say, Farmville, that does not mean I wish to be inundated with hopeless missions, missions within missions, missions that require me to either have 100′s of daily active neighbors or 10 neighbors with agoraphobia. I was also having a similar issue with CastleVille, but once it was able to be accessed from Zynga.com and I could branch out to other players around the world easier, I haven’t had a problem. So I propose that Pioneer Trail’s Birthday Gift to the players be to access it either on Zynga.com or its own domain. Make it easier for the players to hitch their wagons together since that is the spirit of the game, right? Thank you again for an enjoyable game!
How about a tree farm or nursery where we can store full grown trees. How about allowing us to store ALL animals, including the rideable ones. Make it so we can :”visit” barns, orchard, coops, etc. like we can the greenhouses when we visit neighbors. That might help with the long loading problems of neighbor’s homesteads. It’s extremely frustrating when we have to “tend” to neighbor’s animals…you wait 5 minutes for their place to load and they don’t have any animals out.
How about we go back to they way it used to be….easy, relaxing and just having to “beg” for a few building items…which by the way were the same for all buildings. How about coming up with something besides crafting. This game used to be about clobbering varmits, collecting peach pies, or other such items from trees and animals on the homestead. Or we would have to trade collections in. Needing 100 boards, 70 of something needing to beg for in order to craft a couple of useless items is beyond me. I have had a ton of long time neighbors quit because it was taking months, yes months to get everything they needed to craft a few items in order to complete missions.
I miss the days of harvesting crops, feeding animals, harvesting fruit trees and trading in collections in order to complete missions. I would love to help out some of my friends by “gifting” them my excess inventory, but I can’t. I would like to get something from care packages besides cloth and fire which we are never asked to use anymore. And I have hundreds of those items.
This game used to be my relaxation…now I need to relax before playing.
