Folks, the great moment is here (and unfortunately, I’m not talking about the release of the Pioneer Trail)! But still, it’s something really exciting as well: after being rumored a little while ago and after completing the missions in the new series, you will get to take part in the FrontierVille Rodeo after building your own Rodeo Arena where you’ll be allowed to challenge your friends! I am sure you are curious to find out everything about this new feature, so read on to find out everything about it!
Before being able to challenge friends and take part in the Rodeo, you will first have to complete the Rodeo Arena in FrontierVille. Here are the requirements for completing the Arena:
By the looks of it, the Lariat comes from people who are not playing FrontierVille already, so you might have a little problem with that.
Either way, after completing your Rodeo Arena, you will be allowed to start challenging friends and take part in the Rodeo! In order to do so, click the completed arena and select “Race”. There, you will see the Arena menu and all the friends that you can challenge. They also have a difficulty level attached and that’s based on the skills their horses have – it’s not clear right now if the difficulty level is decided based on your horse’s level or by following a generic metric…
However, it’s not only the skill your horse has that helps you win a Rodeo, but a new feature called “Cheers”: you need to ask your friends for cheers in order to have more chances at winning the race (each lasts 12 hours). At the end of the race, you will see who won and you’ll be able to race again only after your horse has rested or by giving him a Bronco Tonic, a new marketplace item that costs 8HS. Of course, if you have more horses, you can use them all for the Rodeo.
Right now it’s not very clear the impact cheers have on a rodeo, but I do hope that it’s not decisive since it would kind of suck to have a very low level horse beat the crap out of you just because he has more friends.
All in all, though, I must admit that I am really pleased with the Rodeo and Rodeo Arena in FrontierVille. What about you?

the lariat equals another way they get you to beg for players
I was really looking forward to the rodeo for something new and fun but am disappointed to learn that when you choose to race, the post shows up on all your friends’ walls…there is no option to customize your posting. I know my friends can hide FTV if all my posts bother them but I am always very conscious to only post to my FTV friends’ walls so this is kinda of annoying.
I didn’t realize that…guess I won’t be finishing this mission…not gonna just let them post where they want…and to get the lariat..you have to beg some none playing friend to let zynga bug them…not gonna do it!
Although 4 of my horsels are racing (as I can see when I click ‘race’), there are only 3 in progress and none finished… ? Asking for cheers only works when you start the race, after that you cannot display it on your page.. There are some issues that they have to work on!
You can get the lariat from a fromtierville friend who is not your neighbour yet. Go to the Facebook FV friends page…loads of people asking to be added as neighbours. Choose one and before you become neighbours ask for the lariat. Hope this helps.
apparently you have to have the lariat before you can race???
I have no place to click to send a request for someone to race..
I wish that zynga would figure out what how we are suppose to do all this before they throw the new missions at us…It is getting to be a pain…this WAS my favorite game..WAS
Hate that races show up on all my friends walls. I have a FV list that I publish to normally so I don’t bug non-FV players.
the rodeo isnt working for me the screeen to race wont come up?
how to fix
thanks
you can also wait for Frontierville, once in a while it finishes building for you. it happened allready twice to me, once with the graveyard.
i have the impression it’s speeds up if don’t play for some days
I guess I am just not going to finish this quest…I will NOT bug any of my non-game playing friends with this AND I will NOT have the race thing showing up on their pages either.
@ Linda: kick one of your good gaming neighbors out of facebook,,,then resend the request to friend you,,and when they accept send the lariat request..worked perfectly fine with me,,I told the person and took like 5 minutes to do the whole thing,,
Ya, I did the same thing, Mike, except I did it with one of my four other Facebook accounts. It works. Just have to be a bit ‘sneaky’ that’s all, if you can call it sneaky.
I still stand by my position that if Zynga knew how to run a damn game in the first place they wouldn’t have to try to force their players to bring on unwitting new ones to replace those who have left due to being frustrated or disgusting with the games.
This company knows how to MAKE MONEY by running a game. They do not know how to RUN A GAME. There is a difference and sadly Zynga will never know the two but as one.
the race mission isnt working for me either, so I wrote zynga for help and they sent me a bunch of bs to do to my computer.. its not my computer its stupid mission problems
I assign 2 times 500 skill for speed an 1 hour ,and I still stay with 3 stars and its noway to end that badges!!!\Zinga do nothing about that!!!!!
