The release of animal mastery in The Pioneer Trail is here and I have already told you about the new animals that are rewarded for completing levels of animal mastery, but I didn’t have the chance to tell you about the exact numbers that you have to complete in order to gain all the levels of animal mastery in the game. I am here to do that for you right now!
First of all, it’s worth noting that in order to increase your animal mastery, you will have to tend the same animal over and over again (your homestead and neighbor homesteads count) or complete the repeatable animal mastery missions from the 3F building.
Sheep Mastery Requirements and Rewards
Sheep Journeyman: Tend 270 Sheep. Reward: 1,000 XP and Moflon Sheep Unlocked
Sheep Expert: Tend 1090 Sheep. Reward: 2,000 XP Golden Sheep Unlocked
Sheep Master: Tend 3,450 Sheep. Reward: 3,000 XP, Sheep Mastery Sign and Ram Unlocked
Cow Mastery Requirements and Rewards
Cow Journeyman: Tend 1,200 cows. Reward: 1,000 XP and Belted Cow Unlocked
Cow Expert: Tend 4,839 cows. Reward: 2,000 XP and Holstein Cow Unlocked
Cow Master: Tend 15,500 cows. Reward: 3,000 XP and Big Buff Bull Unlocked
Pig Mastery Requirements and Rewards
Pig Journeyman: Tend 750 pigs. Reward: 1,000 XP and Spotted Pig Unlocked
Pig Expert: Tend 2,950 pigs. Reward: 2,000 XP and Giant Hog Unlocked
Pig Master: 8,450 pigs. Reward: 3,000 XP and Boar Unlocked
Chicken Mastery Requirements and Rewards:
Chicken Journeyman: Tend 80 chicken. Reward: 1,000 XP and Rhode Island Red Unlocked
Chicken Expert: Tend 340 chicken. Reward: 2,000 XP and Speckled Sussex Unlocked
Chicken Master: Tend 9450 chicken. Reward: 3,000 XP, Chicken Mastery Sign and Rooster Unlocked
Moose Journeyman Requirements and Rewards
Moose Journeyman: Tend 190 Moose. Reward: 1,000 XP and Black Moose Unlocked
Moose Expert: Tend 6,000 Moose. Reward: 2,000 XP and Red Moose Unlocked
Moose Master: Tend 18,000 Moose. 3,000 XP and Elk Unlocked
Badger Mastery and Requirements
Badger Journeyman: Tend 1,700 Badgers. Reward: 1,000 XP and Golden Badger Unlocked
Badger Expert: Tend 5,900 Badgers. Reward: 2000 XP and Honey Badger Unlocked
Badger Master: Tend 18,170 Badgers: Reward: 3000 XP and Red Panda Unlocked
Some of these requirements seem to be completely out of reach so hopefully Zynga will decide to lower them down a little bit to make it possible to become animal masters in this life…
has anyone else noticed that the animal your tending has to be on your homestead and not in a building for it to count towards your animal mastery? what’s the point of keeping them in buildings if you have to take them out to tend them? plus that takes up extra room on my homestead, which was supposed to be the point of the barn, etc. :::sigh::: this is something zynga should fix.
Not getting any points for moose mastery. I received the initial moose reward for the mission but that was it. It has been sitting on 425 for at least 2 dozen feedings of about 45 or 50 moose. Don’t think it is working. Just another thing….
The whole thing is a huge joke and a bad one at that Once you have unlocked and completed the mastery missions, you have to pay for the extra animals with horse shoes… what a con.
Since they insist on using pioneer trail back to back with frontierville with the same amount of bandwidth, they are getting packet/data loss all the time which is a lot of the reason it’s getting errors apart from their own moronic stupidity. All they see is the $$$ and to be honest, I think it’s all they are concerned with. The neighbours ladder still isn’t fixed after a year of complaining. The some moron in the support asked me for a screenshot of it.
While the two separate games co-exist on the same server(s) it will continue to have constant errors.
Moose need to be adults to gain points., so do Badgers
Cows, pigs and sheep all counted when I fed them in the big barn and the livestock pen
Chicken Master is Tend 940 chickens not 9450
ah ha! my animal tends for mastery have been fixed. apparently it was just a glitch and the tends should work when you do them from the barn, pig pen, etc. if you’re having that problem then i suggest you contact zynga and they will fix it for you
Thanks Wildecoyote, I didn’t know that they had to be adult. I really don’t get to do much because the internet message keeps popping up and undoing all of the work I do so I am about done with the game anyway…..

I didn’t know either and wondered why it wasn’t counting then when they became adults it started counting them. I don’t know why it counts some babies like chickens and sheep but not others

Too many glitches in this game and I hear they are about to release another game. They need to fix the on going issues with the games they have first before developing something else. Too many hands in the pot and nothing cooking right.
i would like to just do the missions but it just says blasted internet and off it goes all the time i can not play the whole game it does this all the time .

if you sell adult animals, you get 3 mastery points
What is the Point of Mastering ???? Unlock to purchase animal with Horseshoes? Zynga , this is a waste of time and sucking blood!!!

I’m having problems with The Animal Mastery for the Badger. I have 2 badgers! The are not in the gift list nor are they available to buy with coins. How do I even attemp this one without badgers?
Ok badgers..how can you master them as you have to buy with horseshoes….seems all they want is our money and not to make the game reliable and fun
