63 Responses to “Is Zynga Releasing Too Many Missions Too Fast in FrontierVille?”

  1. Marci says:

The flood of Pioneer Trail missions are taking away the fun of playing the game. When the game was released it was fun creating a homestead and doing appropriate missions connected to the game theme. But Zynga is all about money and lately it seems the only purpose of this game is to sell horseshoes to complete meaningless missions. Not sure if I’m going to continue with this game. I’ve quit three other games because of this endless rant to buy this, buy that. If I quit Pioneer Trail I won’t start yet another Zynga game because it will turn into the same mess. No Zynga, I will not spend ridiculous amounts of money on your games – I’d rather spend that money on Kinect games for the Xbox.

  2. Robert says:

I would have to agree. I’m a very active players and don’t have allot of friends that play the game. I don’t want strangers as friends just for the game. Every time they come out with a new building or mission there are issues they have with the game. I spend more time with the support center then I do playing the game. I have told them many times that they need to get all of the issues fixed before they release any more missions or buildings. To me it seems like Zynga is more worried about how many people play their games and not on the quality of the game. I have been playing Frontierville from the beginning and if the keep coming out with new missions and buildings before they get all the issues fixed I’m going to stop playing the game.

  3. Kimundi says:

I agree too. I’m quite active and I have way to many missions to deal with. I have given up the Pioneer Trail for the time being to concentrate on my homestead, but there’s too many things to ask for…

  4. Pam says:

I too agree with the above posters. There is way too much begging. Especially for the people that don’t have the neighbors and don’t want a bunch of strangers as facebook friends. I’ve totally lost most all of my homepage to FrontierVille. Another thing that irks the heck out of me is all the space needed for crops. There’s no room to keep your farm looking half decent with all the buildings having to be crammed up, let alone having any space to decorate for Holidays and such. Perhaps another page can be used for just crops? Just a suggestion..

  5. Kate says:

I am an active player that logs in multiple times a day as I’m on maternity leave. But as of next week I’m back at work and have no idea how I’m going to keep up.

I did have about 32 active pioneer trail friends that were great, but since pioneer trail was released, it’s dwindelled down to about 8 active friends. I used to be able to get all the materials for a building in one ask, but now it takes me at least 3 days to finish a building. I really don’t want to go and get more neighbours off the forum.

  6. Sandi says:

The begging is getting ridiculous on everything. the repeating missions are ridiculous… the criteria – 15 of this 16 of that is outrageous–what about the good old days when it was 8 here, 8 there…etc. And there are too many too keep up with! multiple missions wouldn’t be such an issue if i could email the request to an active friend more than just once every 24 hours. Or if i could ask for an item more than one of the three and more often than once every 7 hours….I’ve lost two friends who’ve been active players (in the 100′s) since it started who have quite the game because it’s too much begging and too many things to complete at once w/o the resources or means to do so…

  7. Sandi says:

one other thing, i have almost 7 million coins- but what do i do with em? don’t want to buy a bunch of things because i don’t have the room!

  8. Vannesa says:

It’s over whelming!! The missions need to slow down and maybe allow us to catch up a little. I don’t have any room and they keep coming out with buildings. My homestead is starting to look like an over crowded hot mess!!

  9. Helen says:

Frontierville has way too many missions. I was so frustrated that I at one point I deleted everything on my frontier, regretted it, and built it back up to where it was by doing a lot of planting and using my Frontierville dollars to get everything back with exception to the treehouse, which I never got back. With every level, In time I got tired of the seemingly daily missions to complete, then Pioneerville came in and we were expected to use our alotted energies to use on both Frontierville and Pioneerville and I just had to leave both games from frustration. I too do not want to add strangers to the game. I think what Zynga wants is for us to use our real dollars to complete the missions. Not in this economy. It would be nice if Zynga on all their games change our coins to game dollars for every 500,000 coins. I’m sure my frontier is overgrown with weeds by now.

  10. Pamela says:

It is daunting to say the least. I did befriend strangers to continue with the game because a lot of my real friends dropped out. I am able to log in a couple times a day and even with that they are piling up. I hate repeatable missions – they are not fun the second time around. I also will not post every little thing they put up there, I can buy pigs and sunflowers etc because what else am I gonna do with all the coins I have ? I am not going after the rideable broom because of the sheer enormity of it and I am behind in the trail because of everything else there is to do and it’s just not that interesting to me. I also want my homestead to look nice, which is getting tougher with all the buildings they’ve released lately. I’ve seen too many “help please” on posts lately so i know others are having the the same problems with getting people to click on their posts. The green house helps a little with planting , but if your gonna make me reload to go back to homestead they coulda made it bigger ! As far as the bugs go , I’d like to see some pride in their work because everytime I go visiting more the game crashes and then I quit. And I’m so tired of all the refreshing because some darn bear did something or “a great game just got better ” BS !

  11. Kim L. says:

I totally agree with everything posted! I just get close to finishing something and then they release something else. I don’t know what to try to finish first. We don’t need a whole bunch of Halloween missions- half as many would have been enough.
I used to be able to “cyber-stalk” friends of friends and the gift links page to get some things but then they blocked that. What also annoys me is that some of these missions are so interconnected that you have to try to do them all to get anywhere. I don’t want to ask strangers to be my neighbors- that’s no fun. Also, it would be nice if the care packages actually gave you something useful. I don’t need more coins, I need building materials! I like the game and the possibilities but it is very frustrating. I just used my $50 new phone rebate to buy more horseshoes so it seems like free money.

  12. Jill says:

I absoluty agree. I was on vacation for about 2,5 weeks and now it´s just annoying. Who needs 4 (!) Halloweenbuildings? Or ten Ghostmissions? And not to forget Ghosttown, which is to be true, funny.
You can´t go on with the missions, because you have to finish buildings and so you have beg for contruction material every day.

  13. Bridgette says:

I’d have to agree. I’m a daily player but not sure for how much longer. Its other Zynga games as well. My neighbors are dropping left & right because Zynga is all about the money now. I can’t build anything now because of how fb is set up on top of my neighbors quitting. Its becoming more of a job than fun I have to admit. I used to be able to build and or finish tasks in 3 days tops. Now its taking me a couple weeks maybe more. If something doesn’t give I’ll be quitting soon.

  14. Neil says:

My wife and I agree that there are just too many missions being thrown out at the players in such a short time frame. I also agree that Zynga needs to go back to the drawing board and fix these stupid blast internet out problems, and the problem that when you try to visit one of your neighbors it goes to a white screen with an exclamation point on it. If they can not fix the problems then they need to stop trying to be programmers and leave it up to the real professional computer experts. If these problems persist we are out of here and will play something better. Hope you ( Zynga) are hearing this input and will finally get up off your *ss and do something right for once.

  15. Susan says:

I have to agree with all the post here, the game is out of control!!!! There are so many people with different issues and Zynga seems to play blind and deaf to the issues. I am very close to deleting every Zynga game and I am sure they could care less.

The request are overwhelming. Zynga wants me to add 5 more neighbors to be able to plant black roses HEY ZYNGA I HAVE OVER 55 NEIGHBORS I DON’T NEED 5 MORE.

I can’t trade in any of my collections as it crashes adobe flash player. OH BUT ZYNGA YOU DON’T CARE ABOUT THAT EITHER.

It takes over 5 minutes to load a neighbors homestead ZYNGA DOESN’T CARE ABOUT THAT EITHER.
I have friends who can’t get into the game today ZYNGA DOESN’T CARE ABOUT THAT EITHER.
ZYNGA YOU ARE JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE CORPORATE WORLD YOU ARE GREEDY AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMER.
You have one more day to fix the game or I am done.

  16. Teri says:

I have been a regular player as well from the beginning of FV. They tried to grow too fast and have not corrected glitches that should have been fixed eons ago. Internet problems and having to refresh every time you do something on your homestead should have been remedied and not an issue now. The blasted canning mission took me seriously 6 months to finish it and now this Halloween broom issue has been going on since the day it opened. Taking way too long to finish these missions because of the glitches we deal with trying to finish them.
What was the purpose of the moose? There is no place to store them so they take up major space on the homestead and what about the massive number of rabbits. No hutch mission has been launched which would allow us to store them. It is the odd animals that are so frustrating as well with no where to put them so the buildings that we earn through other missions have no where to go.
We need larger homesteads and I am sick of begging for materials as well and I have lots of neighbors but not enough to get what we need now and Zynga has requests blocked to only be allowed to accept a certain amount so you have to keep requesting.
As for using regular cash, they are crazy, not spending money on a game.
Seems like they either fix it or lose it.

  17. Laura says:

I agree too many missions and building released much too close together. What’s done is done, however I think zynga would benefit some if they gave us more time and if they would allow care packages to give us players more than just experience, food, wood and or energy. Zynga should find a way to accommodate their active players who do not have a significant number of active player friends.

  18. Wildecoyote says:

    Howdy all

I have to say I was going to comment on a few of the individual posts above but everyone seems to agree with each other.

Firstly I think we do need to realize that Zynga was getting hammered for not releasing missions soon enough. However having said that I agree there are to many to fast. and even today I received requests for items for yet another new building currently being rolled out (Brick Stove – I think) which you can craft yet more stuff in.

I agree there are to many ask for stuff things. Even in the Crafting Workshop I had to ask them for some stuff I had already created because I need 8 of that item but could only hold 6.

I agree with Robert above with the issues. I to have told them a lot of times they need to get some sort of Quality Assurance process in place. I run several companies and if I had the same issues as they do we would be in business.

And Kimundi I to don’t play the Trail as I have enough to do and can’t sacrifice all day to play the game as my real life responsibilities need my attention.

I have also suggested to them they allow us to store 1000 of each animal, tree etc (1000 Ox, 1000 Blue Ox etc) including Moose,in the buildings and all those buildings should be the same as the Greenhouse where our neighbors can enter the building as that would mean we didn’t have to have crops and animals filling up the homestead as we are starting to have to many buildings for them.
    Hope I made sense

  19. JoAnne Soderquist says:

I completely agree with all the responses indicating there are too many missions, coming too fast and far too many bugs. The freezing, crashing and reloading are beyond frustrating. Being stuck in a mission because I can’t get neighbors to send things makes me want to scream! Right now my major frustration is all the Trick or Treating I’m forced to do! Visiting neighbors was exasperating enough without that added hassle!

    Thank you.

  20. Sharlene says:

    Yes.

  21. Theresa says:

I like alot of missions but the a mount of items you ask for is a little carzy 15,30 200 400 that is a little much went we ask for items it only gives out 3 it needs to give out more.

  22. Theresa says:

I don’t buy horseshoes i think they should give us the item when we finish the missions for free like thank you good job done .

  23. Theresa says:

    we need bigger land .

  24. Joyce says:

Absolutely love all the new missions. Like to have a lot going on. All of my neighbors r getting through all the missions fine. Think asking for things in the hundreds is a little rediculous and don’t like to repeat missions. Otherwise keep them coming!!!!

  25. Sandi says:

what we need is to be able to ask ONCE… if i put a post on my wall that needs 15 of something i should be able to post it ONCE and then as my friends come and see it they can help me out. This getting three on something that needs 15 and having to repost on my wall 8 times is stupid!!! I hate trying to help someone and getting a response that that is all out! That is the stupidest part of this whole game. fixing that ONE thing would make a hell of a difference.

  26. Tova says:

I agree with too many things you have to ask for over and over again. It does seem to be about the money with all their games, not just this one. Ive stopped playing several of them simply because you have to ask for a quantity that seems really out of hand. My husband stopped playing a while ago. They should have the missions based on skill level and not how many blasted neighbors you have connected. I for one think they would make more money on the game if they were to release a version for the playstation or xbox. Just a thought here but I know many would buy it to avoid the refresh, internet went dry and so on.

  27. Joya says:

I just wish they would fix all the glitches, loading problems, etc. instead of overwhelming us with missions that only make the game even SLOWER than it already is.

  28. NICOLE toulouse says:

j’ai des rafraich avec les deux dernière missions impossible de les finir a qui faut il le dire y’ana marre pfff ??? on et beaucoup dans la même situation en ce moment merci de voir si vous pouvez faire quelque chose

  29. orland says:

They need to fix the quests they have then open more quests I have onlu half my neighbors that play any more I have to refresh allllllllll the time no funnnnnnnnnnnnnnn any more

  30. Outre says:

Even with many neighbors, approx. 202 out of 310 still play, I’m finding it difficult to keep up.

I have a real life and don’t hang out in the game to see “what’s going on”. It’s ridiculous. Miss a day and you almost can never catch up.

I feel very sorry for new people, the only advice I can give them is choose, build your homestead and get discouraged because none of the other players will have time for you, or, concentrate on the newer missions and wait for a lull.

Seriously it’s gotten bad where if your wave of Neighbors pass you by with the item most sought after in the Game Feed, well you’re going to lag behind for a while.

The problem really is with the low quotas. IF every Request to the Game Feed could be clicked minimum five times AND (since there are 3 games in 1) we were able to have 80-100 “helping” clicks (personally I find 30 reward clicks more than enough) than everyone would play happy.

(I have NOT advanced very far in the Trail or Ghost Town because of this, I have very little hope of EVER doing so)

Zynga needs to get it through their heads that causing frustration and discouragement to the player will NOT make them whip out the wallet to finish. Instead we may choose to play one of the many MMORPGS that are free-to-play.

  31. Jovana says:

    I agree as well.
I already stopped doing the time missions at all because it means more publishing and annoying all my friends who don’t play the game. I have some FrontierVille friends but that doesn’t change much, most of them don’t send things over. I think the game would be a lot better without all the request you have to publish, it’s pure spam to other friends (I usually delete them after I got some stuff) and of course if they wouldn’t release a new building every week.
I still like the game and everything, it’s just more about collecting stuff from others than doing something yourself. :(

  32. Lisa says:

I think that I have so many missions open that I can’t get on the game. I have tried yesterday, last night and today. will not let me on at all. It will start up and start downloading the game then the site turn all white with a (!) in the middle.

    PLEASE HELP!

  33. sharla says:

way to many missions, items are to expensive to buy with horseshoes i cant even get into the new pionerville, need to let people send you more than 3 items when you really need 15 most people work for a living i have put alot of money into te horseshoes, dumb me, then cant even get into the new pioneer, half my buildings wont show, avitar wont move, cant visit neighbors, now how in the world are we supposed to do thesw, alot of us dont have that many friends, and to limit how many times they can help is just plain stupid, for 3 months i have talked to zyga and THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WORKING ON IT. doesnt help on the timed missions does it, this is the inly game i play now and i am ready to quit this one, just with i could get the money back rom the horseshoes, then id take a months vacation

  34. Emily says:

I have no problem with the number of missions. And asking for things is an essential part of the game. It has been since the beginning. You can’t complain–you’ve been asking for things ever since you started your homestead. You also don’t need to bother your non-frontierville friends–set up a friend list and send your requests only to that group.

  35. Lauren says:

I started playing Frontierville again after quite a break and there is a ridiculous amount of quests. It’s definitely overwhelming if you’re a new player or if you come back from a break due to REAL LIFE. I am definitely having to pick and choose and am currently ignoring the Halloween quests.

  36. Tim says:

Most of us who are still playing the Halloween will notice a bunch of new missions just pouring in and causing the game to be unstable. Most of you who are still are probably frustrated and fuming mad about what they are doing.

Bugs keeps coming out especially the 12 mission and the Mystery Mutant mission. Those who have tried to completed the 12th ghost mission it won’t disappear. As for the Mutant Mission asking people to tend 30 wheat and what do you get after that? If you ask your neighbors to plant wheat, some of you able to complete without any problems and some of you try to complete there still bugs there.

Problem with the 12th mission which is the last one, those try to complete may notice it won’t go away meaning no matter how many times it will remain there. The problem is there are too many repeat missions which also causing the game to be unstable.

I have read most of the above comments what your wrote. Yes you are right that Zynga doesn’t care about what players think. They just want keep releasing games like nobody business and let the bugs eating up the games which is not very good.

Before the Halloween mission came i was having problems with loading Pioneer Trail / Frontiervlle. My question is why have two links to the same game? Would it be easier if they stick to one link?

I wonder what sort of Zynga people are?

  37. Linda says:

Now are only the missions are piling up…but just how many times must a person refresh the game?????? I might be able to make it to one or maybe two neighbors then it shuts down and have to refresh the site again. In one day just on FrontierVille alone I had to refresh the site over 30 times. That is just plain disgusting and ridicules and very time consuming. I am a avid player of certain games on Facebook. I know that games are games…but at least a person can win in Monopoly. And what is with 400 brooms and 250 pcs of candy. And then requesting to visit neighbors that don’t have what you are needing from them. So for common curtesy we go out of our way and plant stuff so we would be able to have them available for their visit. My goodness it took me over 6 mos to get all 1500 peanuts and then turn around I lost them all because of something that Zynga did. I am not even going to try for them…BIG waste of time. Especially, we their are other things that are thrown at us to try and get or finish and BEG for!

Just way TOO, TOO many things coming all at once

  38. ROSEMARY BAUMGARTNER says:

I am overwhelmed with trying to keep up with so many missions and am quickly loosing interest in the game. At level 141 it is obvious I have been a devoted player but the fun is no longer there.

  39. Jenny says:

I play at least once a day and I do have a lot of friends, friends that I don’t know personally who play this. I set up my profile for my game friends so that they cannot see my personal information…but even with all this I am still having a hard time keeping up with all of the many missions. I really love the special holiday missions, but having several of those on top of the ghost town is starting to take the fun out of the game. I have been playing this game since the beginning and I really do love this game, so I am just going to ignore how they keep piling up and I am not going to give in and buy horseshoes just because they want me too! I still have those stupid missions on the books where you have to have like 50,000 food. I will probably never have that much food and if it just sits there, it just does. I will do the missions one at a time and the ones that disappear, then they will have to disappear. We do get to play this game for free and you are not under any obligation to buy the horseshoes. However, I wish that Zynga would listen to its fans and quit ruining a game that has been so fun to play. If you want the people who will buy horseshoes to buy them then offer them special items like you used to do….we have all figured out what you are doing and you are risking alienating an entire community of your fans if you continue.

  40. Outre says:

@Emily I am so HAPPY for you that your game runs all the time without glitches and that you have so little demanding your time in real life.

Now then, it would be extremely nice of you to UNDERSTAND an issue before you attempt a “chastisement” of others. For instance, I am one of the people with many, many, many active Neighbors and still ask for more – who ALSO puts them in Friends Lists who is still having trouble getting the missions done.

Oh, but I guess you were so excited to “put someone right” that you missed that, eh?

As the old saying goes “Engage brain before opening mouth”

People are having difficulty getting the game to load much less getting their Neighbors to help.

We ARE NOT sitting at the computer all day hanging onto everything that happens in Facebook so we know exactly the time a Mission starts and can spam all of our Neighbors relentlessly for items.

If you can – good for you! :-)

But have the decency to realize that many of us have jobs, like the ones that make you sitting on the computer possible; families to take care, and some have issues real life that you would NOT want to deal with.

If all you have to say results in a attempt to knock a real life person down because they are upset about a game, then perhaps you might be happier just sticking your nose in the game, and never coming up for air.

And please don’t try the tired comeback of “Then just don’t play” [nasty voice]. It’s just so old and worn out to comment like that.

    Thank you

  41. Emily says:

Outre, you’re reading a lot more into my post than was there. Take your own advice.

  42. Joy says:

I agree with what everyone is saying…What I am so angry about is how often you have to publish an item you need. You don’t have to do that for Farmville. You don’t have a 50x cap on how many times you can click on someone else’s feed. I don’t understand why Farmville doesn’t have all of the glitches that seem to plague Frontierville. It’s made by the same company. Farmville is just as complicated and yet I don’t have anywhere near the amount of problems that Frontierville has had since day one.

At first, I was like…it’s a new game, they will fix the bugs, but the same bugs are still happening!!! I almost never visit neighbors because of the load time and the freezing that happens. There are days when I can’t get on at all and others have no problem!

People will get new missions several days before me, shouldn’t be a problem except they have already finished whatever new building is up by the time I get it and they don’t help me because they have their own things to finish and don’t want redundant items they no longer need…since there is a cap on how often you can click on someone else’s feed!!!! I am completely frustrated and I don’t blame people for leaving, I am getting close myself!!!!!!!!!

  43. Wildecoyote says:

    Joy

    You are so right
Take the new Rock Oven it’s been out for a few days and some of my friends have finished the missions and I haven’t got it yet. Z say they are rolling it out really slowly to avoid any issues.

  44. Outre says:

    @Emily

No I’m not. And everyone else, no doubt, can see what you’re up to.

  45. Teresa L. Radke says:

Ever since they released pioneer trail the connection, loading, blasted internet, refresh problems have made the game more unstable and nearly unplayable. This should have been their number one priority to fix yet still it goes unresolved.

I like most players enjoy the missions too when they are reasonable. They have gotten very unreasonable with silly outrageous demands in numbers with limitations on the ability to help and to be helped. I have so many missions and can’t even get the game to play long enough in one sitting to make any progress on any mission. Game and business suicide is what I call it.

I sure wish they’d demote the executive nut jobs that brought this idea to the majority of their games. It’s an epic fail, sucked the majority of enjoyment out of their products and has damaged their image and all the games that it’s been implemented in.

  46. Outre says:

    @Teresa

    Exactly the point.

This morning I had seven (7) “Report Bug”/”Great game enhanced” refreshes in and hour and five minute period. I had to get going to work soon and couldn’t see the point of continuing to be frustrated by a game, so gave up.

It’s been that way for over ten days now. I haven’t bothered trying to re-arrange anything on the homestead, the buildings land pretty much where placed when they “appear”. It’s starting to look like a mess, and I don’t know that I really care that much anymore.

I used to get compliments on my homestead, even from Zynga Support staffers. I’m sure many people are cringing when they get there now.

If the game won’t let me keep playing long enough to actually DO anything, why should I care? After all it’s obvious the millions Zynga makes isn’t going into Quality Control of their games. Even FarmVille has started with the repeated refreshing this last week.

I guess the behavior modification specialists they hired to make us perform like Pavlovian dogs cost way too much to allow hiring the technical staff needed to fix the game, eh?

Have any of the “cheerleaders” even read up on the fact that Zynga laid-off and outright fired the original game developers (people with technical expertise with computer code and game mechanics) in favor of hiring behavioral analysts to advise them how to force us to open our wallets more often? Just Google – How Zynga Gets Players to Pony Up

  47. joanne says:

I don’t have many missions, cus I play everyday and help the so called beggers….it’s the blasted/bug/crap that gets me..so I can’t load my homestred..that gives me so much more time to help beggers…I really have a blasted problem with traveling to ghost town & pioneer trail…I have to reload every time!..

  48. orland says:

Hi I dont mind the quests BUTTTTTTT I do mind that I go out of the game and come back the next day and see that nothing I did counted and have to do it again and also that I have to refresh sooooooo much now today I came back and have 2 old quests to do again the Holloween Bat 1 and the First day of school Why cant they get this stuff fixed

  49. Linda Van hoecke says:

This morning I got the school mission and the vimpire mission back on my screen. Both are finished days ago. Please ger rid of them!!!

  50. Theresa says:

You may not like this but i thing we need a Sheriff Building and a Jail House on Frontierville and maybe a mayor’s building

  51. Theresa says:

I play this game everyday after work and on my days off everyday i like this game the more missions the better .But we do need Bigger land .

  52. Jennifer says:

I have added 30-40 “friends” just to catch up on some missions. This is crazy! I wish we didn’t have to ask for so many items, or let us ask with fewer times in between. It’s not fun anymore, more like a chore. Create more missions that can be done on our own with a few that need friends help!

I’ve been complaining about Zynga for a long time. Problem is they have only gotten WORSE. Halloween is my favorite holiday but even I was overwhelmed by the ridiculous number of missions and requirements. Something should have been cut before it was released.

Zynga has a real problem on their hands with the way they do business and I don’t even think they are aware of it or acknowledge it. What is that problem? The problem is that their games are games of diminishing returns. It’s impossible to be a new player on any of these games as it is impossible to keep up. Most people will not help you with things unless it is the most current building for example. So things become an exercise in frustration to any new player and they leave. The games instead become a case of shuffling deck chairs on the titanic and watch as more and more people drop off the game. Strangely, that is when Zynga thinks they should make things even harder for people….when you have less neighbors to help. Driving even MORE people from the game. It’s complete faulty logic.

It’s my assumption that Zynga just thinks they will turn on people to new games that come along. Two flaws with that thinking. One, new game production is expensive and only serves to spread your resources more and more thinly. Secondly, not everyone will make the jump to a new game. Additionally, because of previous bad impressions, they might not try a new Zynga game again EVER. It would have been a better strategy to just concentrate on maybe 6 games and keep players happy and engaged. Instead, they have drove away people in droves. Doesn’t seem like a successful long term strategy.

Yes, Frontierville has piled on to many missions at once. It make it really hard for those of us who dont have alot of good neighbors. Need to spread them out more. Give the little people a chance to catch up.

Oh hell, I am still trying to get missions done from last spring. I don’t go on very much because I cannot get anyone to give me the few things I need to move on, or to upgrade my land. My land is full, my shed is full and I cannot get the materials to upgrade, it takes 2 minutes to download my page. I currently have 58 open missions, but that is not including the missions withing the missions, like the wedding stuff and not counting the trail or ghost town. I think I might go back to my fish tanks that I left a year or so ago. I didn’t have to beg and it isn’t a Zinga game.

Frontierville : the game where you sit around waiting for your friends to send you the things you need.
Way , way waaaay too out of hand. It used to be fun to create a nice homestead, now it’s just a jumble of useless stuff and an avalanche of stupid timed missions that can’t be turned off.
Neighbors are dropping like flies, time to go!!!

There was a time that when i clicked a link to send a request, i could pick the item i was sending or a choice of 4 other items to get back. Was very handy and encouraged me to send items that i did not need because i knew i could get somethig i did. when that was taken away , i was very dissappointed….its almost impossible to finish tasks if your behind because people do not want to send you what they dont need! I play daily but only during my lunch hour, so needless to say, i think i have 30+ missions currently in the works….very dissappointing…i will not spend my real money, but would love to spend the millions of coins i have on things i need…lots of good ideas here on this board…..Zynga needs to get a clue, ill be gone if not because i cannot keep up and its no fun to beg for items day after day…

I’ve just pulled the plug on my homestead. It just got to be too much and this despite my having neighbours who do play. I don’t have many “real life” friends who play Pioneer Trail so I set up a second Facebook profile just for gaming and happily befriended strangers who needed neighbors. It worked a treat for a while but I have been noticing over time how a lot of them have dropped out. I think perhaps 50% or 60% of them don’t play the game any more. Quite a few of the abandoned homesteads belong to people who were at high levels.

The big reason for why people have quit, I think, is the begging. I appreciate that because Pioneer Trail is a social game, there needs to be a certain amount of requesting things and interaction with other players. Zynga have pushed the balance far too much in the direction of asking for things and made the missions almost impossible to finish.

Understandably, Zynga does have to make money and I can only assume that the begging strategy is designed to make people buy horseshoes. You can only bring a horse to the well so many times though. Even if someone does buy horseshoes, they’re getting far less bang for their buck than they used to. Where once you needed 5 or 10 of an item and to buy them as horseshoes wasn’t too costly, now you’re looking at 15 items and its equivalent is 7 or 8 horseshoes.

Of course it doesn’t matter to Zynga if they’re losing players in droves. It all boils down to money. If the game is profitable, it’s win win for them. They don’t care that so many people have gotten annoyed and quit.

I REFUSE TO BUY HORSESHOES I WELL BUY MY VIDEO GAMES FIRST BEFORE I HORSESHOES.

hi, iv not played the game for a few months, want to get back into it, but i have way to many missions, missions impossable, will they delete some like the xmas one, i was getting to many missions thats why i stopped playing for a while, but i do like the game so decided to give it another go, tips or hint would be great xx

  62. Jennie says:

I’m down to 11 missions, not including the building upgrades. For awhile it was really over whelming and I considered quitting. It is less fun than it use to be. There’s just to much requesting for items, to make it worse, 5 people may click and send, then you may click a few of that item, in order to get the required amount, yet when you open the game, there might be half the amount there or even none of them. Since FB changed to the timeline, it doesn’t update not just my page but anyone I visit. The requests are old, hard to find, too small a window to work them in. Sometimes I see a regular player posting requests, it can be awhile before I get to them and they get lost in the wall feed, so I go to their page and none of the new request are on it. The wall feed isn’t much better, the time stamp on requests 99% of the time are mixed up, 10 mins, then 2 hours, then 45 min. So it’s really hard to be of help. Another thing is FB is not updating the amount of people that have answered a request. So it may look like no one sent the item, and when you click it, you get Jack telling you Sorry. Someone may put they need 1 or 2 of something and it looks like no one sent it, yet when you click, it’s Sorry. All this makes it hard and time consuming and people start getting reluctant to click your request.
