In the past few weeks, we’ve received a lot of hints regarding the possible release of the Oregon Trail in FrontierVille – one of the four “coming soon” areas that were teased by Zynga ever since the game was released.
We fist had the release of the Doctor’s Office that rewarded us with a mysterious Medical Supplies for the Oregon Trail (we assume), then the release of the Blacksmith… and all pointed towards the Oregon Trail.
But today we have the ultimate proof that indeed Zynga is moving something towards the Oregon Trail: if you click the Oregon Trail sign on your homestead, you will notice the following screen (thanks, Futurepilot!):
As you can see, it reads “Adventurers are headin’ West! Maybe one of ‘em will pass by your homestead, pardner. The Oregon Trail ain’t for the faint of heart – you’ll need pioneer spirit ‘n’ teamwork to make it!”

Indeed, the signs have changed and now Zynga has offered us a bit more details about the new area. From what we’ve read between the lines, we understand that a new character will introduce the Oregon Trail in FrontierVille and we’ll need to spam-a-lot of our neighbors (that’s what I get from “spirig&teamwork” even though I really hope I’m not right here). Maybe we’ll get some missions to complete together with our neighbors where they do their part and us ours, with each player having a specific role? Well, only time will tell.

I’ve also just noticed that the “Coming Soon” text has disappeared – so is it here already?
The coming soon message isn’t there on me anymore either but when you click accept it does nothing.
That makes me think it is going to be coming out in the next couple of days.

When I read the “spam-a-lot” portion of that article, I threw up in my mouth little.
Great, more missions to clog up my mission log…I’m still having a pain with the “love tree” Valentine’s day and St. Pat’s missions.
Chris, if you expect anything less from Zynga you are cuckoo. Throwing random quests both timed and untimed at their players and creating zillions of spam requests from in game begging is what this company does best right now. Well that and trying to find ways to get as much of your real life dollars as possible by tempting you with items that cost horseshoes — just look at the expansion, 180 horseshoes to open early and now it’s open? That was nearly $20 just for the “privlidge” of seeing it first. WHATEVER!
