Zynga is just introducing a very important and impressive feature in FrontierVille, with the release of the Bulletin Board which might change the way this game is played and definitely changes its complexity. The Bulletin Board introduces a Favors mechanic (dynamic quests that are given randomly to players) and we’ll learn everything about this new feature as well as the Bulletin Board itself in this article.
We’ll start by checking out the requirements for the Bulletin Board in FrontierVille, because it’s a building we have to… build first. Here is what we need:
10 Push Pins
10 Cork Boards
10 Colored Paper
15 Wood Brackets
15 Spare Lumber
15 Pencils on a String
As always, getting these items is done by asking your neighbors, either by sending direct requests or posting on the Facebook wall.
After completing the Bulletin Board, a nice thing happens: you can start to accept doing Favors for the NPCs in the game (like Bess, Hank, Fanny etc). These favors are short missions that vary from player to player and character to character. You will have 2 weeks to complete each mission, but if you don’t want to accept it or you no longer wish to complete it, you can remove it from the mission queue. However, if you do that, you will lose any potential reward from that mission and you won’t receive it ever again.
At least the first favor in FrontierVille should be completed because Zynga is offering you 5 Horseshoes to do it. So you really should, it’s free Horseshoes we’re talking about!
In order to accept a Favor mission, you will have to click on any character on the homestead that has an exclamation mark above. This will give you a special, random mission. Please have in mind that the requirements for the missions are generated randomly from a poll of possible requirements, so it’s impossible to create guides for these missions. Probably with this otherwise neat feature, Zynga wants to kill the FrontierVille fan blogs like FrontierVille Info…
Either way, we’re talking about a really interesting feature that changes the game forever. This Dynamic quest system introduced by the Bulletin Board might mean, if proven successful, that all the future missions in the game will be randomly generated or have a random element attached to them.
Do you like the idea of random missions that only you will get? Or you prefer to have the same missions and same requirements as your fellow FrontierVille players?
