Howdy pardners! You might be aware of the fact that FrontierVille is having some problems now (which are a lot softer than what happened yesterday when many people were not even able to log in to FrontierVille!) This might be caused by an older version of Flash you might have installed, and the Zynga team is asking all of you to make sure that you have the latest Flash version installed.
NikkiKing said on the official forums: “Effective 1/25/11 you will need to have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed in order to play FrontierVille” – so if you can’t log in to the game or you have loading issues (or any kind of other problems), you now know what to do.
You can get it from free here. If you are using Google Chrome, the Zynga team says that you should not upgrade since the browser does that automatically.
Did the update of the flash player fix the problems you were having in Frontierville lately?

I have always had problems with FrontierVille using the Safari browser. About two and a half months ago, I switched to FireFox and now FF is my browser of choice in using Facebook or playing any Zynga-based game.
With Safari, it would take a lot longer to load my FrontierVille “property.” The wait would seem to go on forever. Then there was the issue with slow loading for other properties and such at times.
Right now, my biggest problem is connecting with their stupid servers. When I get the list of who has sent me what items, I can respond with a gift to return only once — if I try a second time, nothing happens. The game literally stops. I don’t even get to the gift page. Just the white that would be there right before it loads. Clicking ‘play’ does no good. I have to go back to Facebook and re-enter FrontierVille manually. From watching FireFox try to load at the bottom left corner of the screen, it looks like it is some sort of issue with the servers being able to read each other from Facebook and Zynga or possibly my account, Facebook at Zynga. Either way I have cut down drastically on gift returns. I don’t know if the ‘new’ screen that pops up has anything to do with this or not. I just know I used to gift back to everyone, EVERYONE, who had me except Frontier Jack. Now, I just pick the person whom I know will use it the best or sometimes just random. It’s annoying.
I have the exact same problem using Internet Explorer
i have the same problem using chrome, is really slow connection and crash every time.
I’ve uninstalled all browsers and reinstalled IE 9 and Chrome 10, uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash Player and Shockwave, done a complete defrag and cleanup on my hard drive … and that bought me about two hours of uninterrupted FrontierVille play. After that, it’s been right back to the same problems:
1) Turning in collections doesn’t function. The pop-up doesn’t appear to let you know you’ve traded in, although the collections appear to be being traded. When you check back, nothing has changed, no collections have been traded in and nothing collected from them in the gift box. The only way around this is (sometimes) to leave the game, refresh everything and then go back in and do NOTHING but turn in collections.
2) “Shockwave has become unresponsive” errors, followed by “Google Chrome has stopped responding” (in Chrome) … or just a massive freeze of everything in IE 9. Either way, it usually requires opening the task manager to shut things down, or (way too often) a manual shutdown and reboot.
It’s more than a little frustrating. I’ve even gone to some of the techie discussion boards and tried mucking around with uninstalling and reinstalling sound drivers, renaming sound and video files, etc.
At this point, I’m pretty sure the problem isn’t my system. Have you, maybe, just gotten too big to handle the business??
I am having the same issues, have uninstalled and reinstalled everything, browsers and players still has the same effect. I gave up playing one game and will probably have to do it to Frontierville, which happens to be my favorite:(.
So, installing or updating players is not the fix!
I cannot invite friends, or send gifts or ask for mission gifts. This started after IE 9 installed is anyone having this problem? Zynga as always cannot provide an answer except we are working on it. I have had this problem for week now and I am very tired of waiting. Anyone out there have a answer. Thanks Tom
Wow, Tom, you’ve seen an actual reply from Zynga about something?? You should print that out and have it framed or something. Seems to me that all they do is make space available for players to beg for help from each other and ask questions that are never answered. There are multiple sites for the public rending of flesh and tearing out of hair, but I’ve never seen Zynga actually answer a single question.
I’ve had the same problemS on IE, Firefox, Safari, Google – and loads od replies about countless issues from Zynga – but the result is always the same – it doesn’t work! What an aggravation and with all the missions we are being offered, I know it’s going to get worse
I even took my computer to a computer store and they said there’s nothing wrong with the computer, upgrades or software, which leaves us with …. Zynga …. as the problem!
Like most everyone I too have had multiple issues with Frontierville. I done everything to upgrade and enhance but nothing works on any of the browsers I use. I have been locked out of Frontierville for 2 months. The answer I received from Zynga support is that it is that the problem lies with developers of the game and they are working on it. I’m tired of waiting too much stress on a stupid game….good luck everyone!
I cannot invite friends, or send gifts or ask for mission gifts. This started after I installed IE 9 . I can see from above that Tom reported this problem on 10th April 2011. Have you worked out a fix yet? Thanks Diane x
Im glad to see I am not the only one with issues with turning collections. I would like to use my energy that I now have stockpiled to feed animals that will grow and somehow get to my goal of 50 000 pieces of food. I keep having to use my food stores because my collections won’t turn in!
I, like everyone else, am having allot of problems not just with Frontierville but the other Zynga games. Frontierville seems to be the worse at the moment. I cannot send gifts, requests or receive gifts via Facebook. When I try using the homepage requests I am routed to a white page and no activity. I tire of sending messages to the Zynga and the individual games as I get answers such as “We do not address individual concerns”. I love playing these games but it seems to have become more of a frustration than a enjoyment. Stress and frustration I can get anywhere. I wait for them to work out the bugs before they overrun the world.
I am having trouble loading Flash. I downloaded it but it still says I need to. I can’t get into Frontierville and haven’t been able to on my home computer for a month now. I can get into the game on my computer at my office. I am on Windows 7 at home and Windows XP at the office. I am not savvy on the tech side at all so can’t even understand when I find some kind of fix. May just have to quit playing Frontierville.
I have downloaded Adobe Flash 10 times and I am still getting update your Adobe Flash Player It will not let me play one time and then it will but then it will stop again Please help me I have taken my computer to the shop and it is not my computer
Can not send gifts or ask for mission gifts this has been going on for over 4 weeks now, please fix.
Also unable to get bat even tho I have completed the mission 4 times.
Sick as a chip. I have tried changing server
Use Chrome, can not even get Frontierville to load for weeks. I get the accept/respond gift page and then it just sits there. This HAS to be ZYNGA issue not Adobe. It used to work ZYNGA. I can get Castleville to work just fine, so not Adobe.
I HAVE THE LATEST VERSION OF ADOBE FLASH PLAYER AND STILL WANT LOAD !
